Welcome to the SM Foundation!
SM Foundation is the socio civic arm of the SM Group of Companies through which it helps the less fortunate in the communities it serves. These are areas within the vicinity of SM department stores and supermalls that need assistance.
The Foundation has four areas of advocacy: education through scholarship programs and donations of school buildings to public elementary & high schools; health & medical projects like medical missions with a mobile clinic, and renovations of hospital activity centers and religious community projects.
SM Founder and Chairman Henry Sy, Sr. established SM Foundation to help the less privileged members of our society. The assistance initially consisted of donations to charitable institutions, but has since included education, health, livelihood and other community projects.
It undertakes projects, many of which are in partnership with government agencies, media, and civic organizations. The Foundation intends to serve more communities as SM builds more malls around the country
In Community Development we seek to improve the quality of life and opportunities for positive change in urban and rural communities. We support community-based institutions that mobilize and leverage philanthropic capital, investment capital, social capital and natural resources in a responsible and fair manner.
